Let’s Look Closer

Let’s Look Closer

We are, most all, at fault for not looking closer. Closer at the Word of God. Let’s look closer at the Day of Atonement in Leviticus 16. Can you imagine one day a year, making atonement to God for the US, and if the hearts of our leaders and the people were not right, God’s blessings and His protection would be removed?

Leviticus 16:7-10 (KJV) states:
7 And he shall take the two goats, and present them before the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
8 And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot for the LORD, and the other lot for the scapegoat.
9 And Aaron shall bring the goat upon which the LORD'S lot fell, and offer him for a sin offering.
10 But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness.

Who is Azazel? Azazel is a proper name to start. In Hebrew it can be translated, “the goat that goes away”, but in other references such as 1 Enoch and Dead Sea Scroll 4Q 180, a fragment Connected to Enochic traditions: It references Azazel and the Watchers (fallen angels) who fathered giants. 1:8 fragment contains The role of Azazel and the angels who sinned.
The goat for Yahweh was sacrificed for the sins of Israel. The goat for Azazel was sent away after the sins of Israel were placed upon it. So was the evil Azazel due an offering? No! The goat for Azazel who’s banished outside Israel, because Israel belongs to Jehovah and was holy. Azazel was getting what was his, sin, and outside Israel to boot, where the pagan gods reigned.

The devil is in the details.

Blessings
