There’s No Place I’d Rather Be

“It is not God who does not call. It is man who will not respond."

Isobel Miller Kuhn was an “ordinary” teen of her day. Pretty, smart, motivated, opinionated and saw no value in the Christian beliefs of her parents.

Off to college for study, fun, romance, but she found that life was not perhaps all she thought it should be. The realization that her boyfriend was messing around on her, brought the world she thought she knew, crashing down! Influenced by the poems of Thomas Hardy, she saw life as meaningless and dark. Perhaps today’s youth would take inspiration from such as The Walking Dead!

Contemplating suicide, for “What’s the reason to live?” Hearing her beloved father in the next room and the realization of what her death would do to him, woke her from her morbid desires and thoughts. She knew he would think her in hell and again the words of Dante came to her mind. “In His will is our peace.” Isobel knew instinctively she was not in His will and began her search. God met her where she was!

After several years of growing apart from self, Isobel heard the words of a man telling about the people in China, and right then a burden, a hunger, captured her for the people of China. Her every thought was to take the love of Jesus to China.

Graduating from Moody Bible college, with China in mind, finally the day came, and she sailed away. Spending her life in China and Thailand, finding a husband and having a family, and most of all, finding His will and His peace. There’s no place I’d rather be!

Blessings
