Memorizing

I keep hearing people say that AI is taking over the Bible and that everyone needs to have a paper copy. I agree—there’s real value in holding God’s Word in your hands. But then comes the next argument: “We all need to memorize Scripture.”
Well… if my life depended on my memorization skills, I’d be in trouble. I just don’t memorize like that. I know a lot of the Bible, but I can’t quote it word-for-word. What I can do is recognize it. The Holy Spirit brings the right portion to my mind, or I think of just enough of the verse to look it up.
I admire people who can memorize chapters at a time—that’s a beautiful gift. But it’s simply not how I’m wired. And that’s okay. Isn’t it amazing that God meets each of us right where we are and uses the strengths we do have?
So don’t be discouraged. Use what God has given you. Lean into the way He designed you and I would get a paper copy you like. It may just come in handy soon.
