A Depressed Christian

A Depressed Christian

“I’m a Christian but I’m depressed!”Because you’re a Christian does not mean you’re blind to the horror of this world. Because you’re a Christian does not mean you’re deaf to the cry’s of the horror. Because you’re a Christian does not mean you’re dumb to the persecution by the enemy. In other words, you’re a Christian but you’re not blind, deaf and dumb! You see, you know, you experience, and it’s very much real. But Jesus made many promises to YOU Christian. He said He overcame the world for you. He said in Him you live and move and have your being. In other words, you are not alone and never will be. Depression comes when we think we are alone.

Often times I fight depression. Mainly because I feel home-sick. I feel like I just don’t belong here. And I don’t! But, I must wait until my ticket is punched. Until then I must take every depressing thought captive. I must remind myself, I’m in Him and He overcomes FOR me. I must surrender these feelings to Him, allowing Him to bear them for me, so that I don’t have to. I must read His Word to remind me of Truth. I must go to the House of the Lord that He has assigned me, to be with brothers and sisters in Him. If I skip any of these things then I open myself to the power of the enemy that can easily devour me.

No matter how things appear, live in Him and the enemy will not be able to overcome you! A depressed Christian really is an oxymoron.

Blessings
