Bloody Affair

The sacrifices that were required to be made for sin were quite frankly a bloody affair! I don’t think we really understand or even try to imagine when taking communion, but that’s what communion represents. A horrible, torturous, inhumane, bloody affair. But what is mind boggling to me is that the sacrifices will start up again, in the 3rd Temple, but even more astounding is the fact that during the 1000 year Millennial Reign of Christ on the Earth, the sacrifices will continue. Yes, while Christ is ruling and reigning as King, from Jerusalem, animal sacrifices will be going on! Why?

Because sin is so bad, so serious, so awful, we really don’t understand how bad it is. It requires death. The sacrifices show a world one last time the seriousness of sin, for natural people who will still have the ability to sin, but will not have the influence of Satan.

These sacrifices will be an object lesson for natural people, as to the awfulness of sin and the offense it is against our Holy God, and the reminder of Christ’s sacrifice of Himself for sin and the atonement for sin. Sin requires death. That’s why we die, because we are all sinners.
