Terror At Tenerife

If you can ever find a copy of Terror at Tenerife, buy it! A book published in 1977 by Norman Williams & George Otis, telling the inside story of the Tenerife airport disaster, where two Boeing 747s collided, killing 583 people.
It’s a book I will never forget, and never part with.

An unidentified man tells his story of this tragic aviation disaster. It’s one of, if not the most astounding stories I have ever read, as he gives detailed accounts of things no one should be able to account for. Such things as people being vaporized before his eyes from the heat on the plane.

The story of the Methodist minister hearing God say, “Get out of line”, and not boarding a plane reminded me of the book Terror at Tenerife. One of the authors, George Otis wrote and preached that God instructed him to warn people using real‑world events — especially disasters — as wake‑up calls about the fragility of life and the need for spiritual readiness.
Regarding Terror at Tenerife, Otis said that God impressed on him:

“Tell the story so people understand how quickly life can end.”
“Use this event to call people back to Me.”
“Show that human systems fail, but God does not.”
“Warn the world that time is short.”

It’s time to choose. Choose wisely!

Blessings
