Why The OT Saints Are Not The Bride?

Why Are The OT Saints NOT The Bride Of Christ?

Why Are the Saints Who Died before the Cross Not The Bride?  The wedding analogy that we still adhere to in tradition, is straight out of the Bible, almost to a “t”.  (Watch Preppers from yesterday on Freedomslightchurchofgod or Leahfarster on Facebook), entitled “Dare To Look Ahead”.)

It holds such meaning for our future marriage to Christ, that barely any of us understand the significance.  After studying it, I hope that I will never look at a wedding the same.  But skipping way ahead, why are the pre-Cross saints NOT included and considered to be the Bride of Christ, as the after the Cross saints are?  Great question!

We know the saints before the Cross, went to a safe place of holding called Paradise, or Abraham’s Bosom, and Jesus freed them at some point during the 3 days that he was dead, and they walked the Earth, prior to going to Heaven with Jesus, (Matt 27:50-54). But today, after the Cross when a believer dies, he/she goes straight to Heaven.  The unbeliever still goes to Hades, which will be emptied, appearing before Jesus at the Great White Throne Judgment, where its occupants will be judged prior to entering the Lake of Fire.

The saints prior to the Cross, will be invited to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb, the wedding reception of Christ and the Church, but they won’t be apart of the Bride.  They will come from Heaven to the New Heaven and the New Earth, with their newly assigned resurrected, fit for heaven bodies, and join in on all the fun of the reception, the Marrige Supper, and all the excitement of the New Heaven and the New Earth.

For the pre-cross believer, Jesus the Bride-groom had not come. They were looking forward to His coming. When He came, He made Himself known and believers then were betrothed to Him. We are still betrothed waiting for Him to come get us, where we will then marry or join with Him, living forever with Him for eternity in the New Kingdom.

Therefore we know there are 3 separate groups, before and after the Cross and then the tribulation saints. No matter which group you’re in, know this, it’s going to be a marvelous time, like no other!

Blessings
