Never Got Started
When I was in high school, 8th grade to be exact, I was drawn to the dark side. I thought smoking was cool, and when I finally got the nerve to stand outside, behind Roswell High where the buses lined up, the designated smoking area, it didn’t feel that cool. I wasn’t good at school, but I had talent in different areas. Not enough to be known for them, but enough to get by in life.
Today the kids have something far worse than a smoking area! They have entertainment. They have phones and video games that are literally debilitating them and leading them to their quick demise. Hell is widening its mouth to take in more and more daily, who have no time for God, no interests, no goals, but only a desire to scroll or win the game.
Can you imagine living and traveling with Jesus, but you stay in your tent and scroll, never coming out? That’s the kids today! I won’t even say where they will be at my age! My life has literally flown by and I will bet that these kids won’t and can’t make it very long. Life will devour them early on.
A person with dreams of grandeur, where video games are concerned, or a young person who refuses to carry on a conversation with friends at dinner because their phone beckons them through the all familiar vibration against their hand, has not much of a life to look forward to.
Parent PLEASE wake up and see what is happening before your very eyes! It’s not even a slow death, it’s a relatively quick one!
Lead your child to ask the Lord what He thinks of their electronic use: Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Like one who takes away a garment in cold weather, And like vinegar on soda, Is one who sings songs to a heavy heart.(A phone cannot help a heavy heart, a purposeless life) Prov 25:20
"Everything is permissible for me,” but not everything is beneficial. “Everything is permissible for me,” but I will not be mastered by anything.” BSB 1 Corinthians 6:12
I could go on and on. Look them up yourself, what the Bible says about entertainment. Pray about it. Lay it down if it’s taking away the hours God gave you. When you come to your senses from endless scrolling, you may just find life is over and funny thing….you will never even have gotten started!
Blessings
