That Word

You know, there is just something I have never liked about the word “Faith.” Maybe because I tried for so many years to get it. To acquire it I chased it, worked for it, and yet it always seemed to allude me. But here’s the thing. In Hebrew the word is EMUNAH and it does not mean to believe in something blindly for which their is no basis, but rather in the Jewish mind emunah it is more about active trust in God’s character and promises, even when circumstances are uncertain. IT’S A LIVED CONDITION.

Oh if I had only known that years ago! God made us to think and to reason. How can you believe in something you know very little about? You can’t. You come to emunah the more knowledge you gain. God never expected us to believe in nothing, from nothing. He said rather, “Come, let us reason together.” Isaiah 1:18

The more you learn about who God is, why He came, and how much He loves you, it’s easy to have emunah. Much easier than blind faith!

Blessings
