Do You Really Want To Offend?

I was thinking about what I read this morning in Numbers 14.  God wanted to be thier God.  God wanted to be their guide, their provider, their protector, their everything.  But the people would not let Him.  They griped and complained and actually wanted to go back to Egypt where they would surely be killed, and worse, they would be slaves and cruelly treated at that.  But knowing the story; the Egyptian children died, their crops destroyed, their water poisoned, their riches given away, no, I don’t think they would be welcome back in Egypt even as slaves.  

God wanted the best for them and He had this awesome land for them and all they had to do was do what was right and obey, but they couldn't and they wouldn’t.  How many people do I know that are in the very same position!  God wants to be there all in all but people continue to insist on listening to Satan, following Satan in attitude, in griping and complaining.  And little do they know that they offending God!  Yes, read Numbers 14!  God gets offended. If you are entertaining evil through being unhappy, through not putting God first, then you are highly offending Him.  

Would that we would be so in awe, so fearful of offending our Holy God, so much in love in with Him that we would not dare say or do anything that would bring His disapproval.  But, we go on day in and day out bringing fresh offense.  Wallowing in our self-pity, refusing to put Him first, refusing to keep our focus on Him.  Listening to the lies the enemy tells us daily, laying out of church where the teaching and the fellowship would surely encourage us to go on in Him, but no, we stay where we are in shear misery and that my friends offends our Lord!  Wouldn’t it you, when you had supplied ALL and someone disregards you and doesn’t even care enough to appreciate it or utilize what you have provided?  Yep, you would be offended.  Don‘t offend the Lord please.
