Last Will & Testament

Will & Testament We honestly don’t realize the importance of the Bible as a last will and TESTAMENT. Let’s see what Testament means:

A Last Will and Testament, now most commonly referred to simply as a “Will,” is a legal document in which an individual records his wishes as to how his possessions and AFFAIRS should be handled after his death. The individual making the Will may specify, for example, who should take custody of his children, and which heirs should be given certain specified assets. To explore this concept, consider the following Last Will and Testament definition.

   1. noun. The words “will” and “testament” mean the same thing, referring to a statement directing the disposition (https://legaldictionary.net/disposition/) of one’s personal property upon death.

Keeping this definition in mind that a will and a testament are the exact same thing, why do you think the Bible is called a Testament? Because it’s all about God’s wishes and contract with Israel and those who choose Him (believers). It comes from the Greek word diatheke. In Greek, diatheke means contract, advisory will, or covenant.

I’ve been through “the reading of the will” several times, and I’ve seen families disintegrate fighting over the will. And I’ve seen family members defrauded from the will, but none is the case for God’s will, for it is PERMANENT and EVERLASTING. It can’t be defrauded or cheated on. It can’t be stolen or lied about. It will forever prevail! We may read it wrong, but it prevails. We may read into it, but it prevails. We may twist it, and yes, it still prevails.

So, here is the million dollar question, “Why don’t we believe it? Why do we not believe and take to the proverbial bank, what the Bible states, as heir to the will?”For one reason it takes the most sophisticated of God’s lawyer to decipher it, the Holy Spirit! Understanding comes by asking Him to reveal the will. Once I properly understand the will, then I can begin to carry it out. I can take LEGALLY what is due me. I can fight if necessary for what is legally mine. The Law will be on my side, for the Will & Testament declares it. I can believe what it says! How foolish to question the intent of the testator! How ridiculous to think that’s not really what He means. How moronic to think my name is there, but He really didn’t mean me! How pathetic to think that somehow I could be good enough to die for. No, He left me in His will simply because He loves me, because I am His creation, not because I am good or worth it. I am provided for, not because I have earned it, but because I chose to be in His family.

Read the Will again and find out what He left YOU! Ask His lawyer the Holy Spirit to reveal the Truth of the Will to you. You will be pleasantly surprised!

Blessings
