Departure

Departure

If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. John 15:18-19

This verse reminds me of the most majestic, the tallest of maple trees in the fall, displaying its most glorious and vibrant color, its height, and its fullness. With deep unseen roots, it cannot be deterred by wind or rain. But the seasons do change it. In the fall, before it sleeps for the winter, it shows it glory. It screams to the world, “I am here and I am glorious!” And then it sheds its glory and falls asleep, only to reemerge in fullness of life in the spring. Hard times and even death are not the end, but rather just the beginning!

The Christians in the Colosseum before death, were singing their praise to God, showing their glorious and secure faith in the Savior who once died for them, as they were dying for Him. His glory showing all over them, just before they fell asleep only to reemerge in fullness of life!

We are not made for this world but for the one to come. This horribly wicked place is NOT our destination. That all changed after the fall of man. But Jesus told us not to worry, because He knows what we need while we’re passing through and He will take the sting out of death, when at the height of our glory in Him, we gloriously depart!

Blessings
