Halloween

It’s upon us again……Halloween. I drove home last night and viewed a goast in a tree….already! People love Halloween. And so I won’t rehash its origins, that does no good, but I will tell you I am reading a book entitled Imagine Heaven for the second time, about people who have had near death experiences.  I thought about the people who had a Hellish event, and wondered what their take on Halloween was. Take for instance this NDE: *“When I reached the bottom, it resembled the entrance to a cave, with what looked like webs hanging. . . heard cries, wails, moans, and the gnashing of teeth. I saw these beings that resembled humans, with the shape of a head and body, but they were ugly and grotesque. . . . They were frightening and sounded like they were tormented, in agony.”

I couldn’t find anything specific on the topic, but I know my own experience of enjoying Halloween from childhood. Going to the Jace’s Haunted House as a teenager. It was fun! I didn’t do any of that with my kids until after they were grown, we went to some haunted houses, but when I received the revelation of what Christ did for me, then it all seemed so wrong! What I innately knew, but had let the fun of it override my sense of wrong. Tomorrow I’ll talk about why it’s wrong but for today think about what the person who went to Hell said it was like. The Bible is clear that what is here on earth is a reflection of what is in Heaven and the spirit world. For now, think about the similarities of Hell and Halloween and ask yourself, Is God in any of it?

Blessings
