Men stumble over truth from time to time, but most pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing ever happened. ~Winston Churchill
I ask you to read and read again, until you get the meaning of what he’s saying.
Jesus said (in my words) “To those that have ears to hear….to those who stumble across truth, who recognize it, and decide to stay and pursue it further”, not “To those who occasionally stumble across truth by hearing, and then go on like they never heard a thing.”
I see people doing this very thing on a very regular basis. Stumbling across truth, peering at it for a moment, a week, a few months, then moving on with their shattered lives, as if truth had never been encountered. They are the ones that Jesus describes as not having ears to hear.
