The Lord laid on my heart recently “mentoring”. Most people will never
teach out to or for a mentor, but a mentor can make the difference in where you spend eternity.
You see, when you’re born again as Jesus explained, your spirit is what is born again. The part of you that leaves your body at death, but your mind and your soul (mind, will & emotions) are left the same and that is where people struggle. This is where a mentor comes in.
Someone to help you with that part of you that needs to start kindergarten in the Kingdom of God. You won’t just know! You’re going to have to learn. And the best way to learn is through someone who has spent years learning! But Satan, your foe, will come in, fill you with pride, telling you, “You don’t need help”. Or perhaps, “You can do it on your own”. Could you have honestly graduated from kindergarten on your own with no teacher? No!!!! God gave teachers and everyone needs one. Don’t learn the hard way, learn through a mentor who can “show you the ropes”, one that can make sense of the Bible. One that loves to share what they’ve learned. Without the renewing of the mind, life can take you out before your time.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. Rom 12:12
Find a mentor today! Ask the Lord for one. He’s sure to provide! And allow the book of Proverbs to mentor you daily, in its fatherly wisdom! For if our heart (soul) doesn’t have guidance it will go astray.
