Martha or Mary
Tonight at church Bible study, one in our group was so excited because while studying Martha and Mary in the Bible, she got a revelation of the fact that she was not the Mary that she thought she was. The Lord showed her that in truth, she was a Martha! This was enlightening to her and welcomed information.
You see Martha thought she had to do everything or it wouldn’t get done. Mary took the time to sit at Jesus feet and amazingly, the work got done! Following Jesus is a supernatural, not of this world experience. When you put Him before your job, before your everything, then He supernaturally redeems your time and makes you more successful than you could possibly be on your own.
If you lay out of church, if you make no time to get in the Word, you will find that you’re less successful, have less time and your joy meter will surely go down quickly! You may even find that work does not go as well as you expected. Why? Because you are doing it yourself, exactly like Martha, when all along Jesus is waiting for you to love Him like Mary. To want to be with Him, like Mary. He longs to work in your life and open opportunities for advancement, but Martha would rather do it herself. Are you a Martha or a Mary? Think about it and don’t deprive yourself of the supernatural working of God in your life, because like Martha, you have no time for Him.
