Religionless Christianity
What a powerful talk we had last night at Freedoms Light Church where we practice “religionless Christianity”! Yes, you read that right. Cain was the first to practice religion. He brought a work of his hands. He tried to earn Gods favor by doing his very best, but he and his best were rejected!Abel practiced “religionless Christianity”, bringing the sacrifice that God prescribed. The sacrifice that pointed to the future Savior. THE Lamb of God that would take away the desire to sin for those who trusted in Him.
God told Cain his works were rejected and to bring the correct blood offering. A perfect lamb who could cover Cains sins, but Cain rejected God and His sacrifice for his sins. Cain wanted to have a part in his own deliverance, but God would not share His redemptive work with Cain. In turn Cain’s sin nature, not covered by the blood, committed the first murder out of his uncontrolled, unredeemed sin nature, that produced jealousy and hatred for the goodness of God.
All world religions call for works to please their “god”, but ours is truly a “religionless Christianity”, where the only thing we have to bring to the Holy God is a contrite heart, not works of our hands.
Download the Freedoms Light Church of God app in the App Store or check us out on Facebook or sometimes YouTube ( when we’re not in YouTube jail).
