Women Helping Women
The ladies meet once a month on Tuesday night and I want to share a quote from the book we just finished by Dr. Juli Slattery. The book is God Sex and Your Marriage. She said, “If I could take everything I’ve learned-- from an MA, MS, and doctorate in psychology; over twenty five years in practical ministry; and all the hours I’ve spent counseling and boil them down to the one thing that will make the greatest difference in your life, it would be this: KNOW JESUS. Cry out to Him. Run to Him. Worship Him. Say yes to Him. Reading the Bible, spending time in prayer, going to counseling, getting plugged into a discipleship group…..those are not magic bullets that heal you, but pathways to knowing a Savior who will free your captive heart. The journey of freedom isn’t primarily about having enough willpower and self-discipline, but comes through knowing Jesus.
