Is Sickness From God?

And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. John 9:1

If you’re not reading your Bible, you’re missing out on drama, deceit, murder, mystery, intrigue, life, victory, knowledge and much, much more!

The disciples with Jesus come across a blind man. The disciples thought that all disabilities, and sickness were caused by sin. Today, we may or may not think that. Satan still uses that lie on people though, but I think today we are more apt to think “God did this to me!” Never taking responsibility for our actions, always looking for someone to blame.

Sin does bring its just reward (Ez 9:10). In other words, if you do drugs, drink excessively, over eat, what ever it is, you will reap the reward. But here’s where our scripture comes in. We know that sin equals death. Sin reaps its own just reward. So what does our scripture mean? “Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.”

God did not cause this man to be born blind. His parents did nothing bad, no drugs or anything else while pregnant, to cause their child to be born blind. The baby was born blind because he was born into a sinful, Satan ruled world. Jesus came to defeat Satan on behalf of this blind man. Jesus came to show the world, the state of the world and to draw people to Himself, so that He could lead captive mankind to freedom, all for the glory and the power of God!

Allow Him to lead you out of captivity! Do you really want to remain blind and captive to Satan? There is only one way out, and it’s up to you to choose. God came to deliver you! Won’t you let Him?

Blessings
