Like A String Bean

I enjoy going out early in the mornings picking the “fruit” of our labors from our garden before the sun gets too hot. This time of year is especially phenomenal. To go out when the morning is a little crisp and to behold God’s miracles.

This year my dear hubby planted string-beans (as I grew up calling them) to grow up over three metal arches. It made it so nice, because under the arches it provided complete shade. Right now the leaves are sparse, they have dried up and fallen off, but this morning I went out and I was shocked! I skipped two days of picking, thinking, “Well, they’re done for the year, how sad”. But today I couldn’t believe how many there were! Where did they come from? I didn’t notice a lot of blooms indicating new beans, but there they were! I canned 6 quarts from 2 days from that little plot.

This reminded me of the work of the Spirit of God. Like the scripture says in Mark 4:26 And He said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how.”

The Word of God is the bean seed and it produces beans and I don’t know how! My life seemed dead as a door nail and yet, the Spirit does a miraculous work that absolutely amazes me on a regular basis! I produce beans that I don’t know how!

Sow your seed today, the Word, and let God make you just like a green-bean!

Blessings
