Open Your Hand & Heart

I read Matthew 25, the parables told by the Son of God as He walked amongst us. They are serious parables that tell stories of the seriousness of our choices while we live. One struck me. The parable of the master and the servants. The master was going away and entrusted his money to the servants. One servant doubled the masters money and was praised. The other servant hid the money, did nothing with it and was excited for his wickedness.

There are some who have tasted the goodness of the Lord but have chosen their sin over the goodness of the Lord. They have hidden His goodness and indulged in their sin. They have made their choice. Pride may blind them just as in the case of this wicked servant, who thought he was ok, but he found out he was wrong. “So take the talent away from him and give it to the one who has the ten talents. And throw the good-for-nothing servant into the outer darkness; there will be weeping and grinding of teeth. Vs 28 & 30.

Would you retain an employee who does no work for your company? No! The person who is born again, but hides the Lords goodness, choosing the love of the world and his sin, is in danger! Don’t fool yourself!” …for You have exalted above all else Your name and Your word and You have magnified Your word above all Your name!” Ps 138:2b

The Word of God is true and you better heed it, while you still can. No sin, no addiction, no lifestyle, no temptation is worth yielding to, over the previous goodness of our Lord, who laid down His life for you.

Sin is separation from God. He doesn’t look at your sin individually, he looks at your separation from Him. Come to him today and put away sun (separation). Stop letting pride keep you from the Christ who loves you!

Blessings
