You Choose

I remember years ago in a Sunday night, a man who grew up in the church that my husband was the Associate Pastor in and he came to visit the church. He had not been in years. He was fairly young and sat on the second row. As the altar call was given, standing in the pew, he gripped the back of the pew in front of him, his knuckles turned white. He would not come forward, even though you could see the agony all over his face. Some tried talking to him about giving his life to Christ who died to set him free from the torment of the evil one, but he refused. He left church that night and was hit by a train.

Another Pastor shared with my husband that a lesbian was coming to his church. She too was under heavy conviction, or a strong drawing by the Spirit of the Living God to come and give her life to Christ. He demands nothing of us but to simply come and He will do the rest of the work needed to make us acceptable to God.

Finally, one day she came to the pastor and said, “Can I go to heaven living as a lesbian?” The pastor told her “No, but Jesus would deal with the issue and take care of it.” She said, “Then I guess I’m going to Hell,” and she left. The next day she was on her cell phone while driving, hit a tree and was killed. Her neck was broken. Her passenger did not have a scratch on them.

Your first thought may be to blame God, but God does not pour wrath out on people. He sent Jesus to TAKE His wrath for people. These people made a choice. A spiritual choice from their dead spirit, to choose death and when we do this, Satan has legal permission to steal your life. John 10:10 “The thief (Satan) comes not but to steal, to kill and to destroy.”This is his MO, but you must choose yourself. “I (Jesus) have come to give you life and life more abundantly.”

This was the rich young rulers problem. Jesus asked him what he chose, and he chose money. What people don’t understand is when they choose Jesus, He makes your life so much better than you could ever believe! He will take away things in your life that don’t need to be there, by changing your desires. It won’t even be work for you! They chose sides! Read Psalm 115 today and thing on His goodness. For truly He is good.
