Which Millennialist Are You?
Let’s look at the definition to see:
1) Amillennialist is the view in Christian eschatology which states that Christ is presently reigning THROUGH the Church, and that the "1000 years" of Revelation 20:1-6 is a METAPHORICAL reference to the PRESENT church age which will culminate in Christ's return.
It stands in contrast to 2) Premillennialism, which states that Christ will return PRIOR to a literal 1000 year earthly reign; and 3) Postmillennialism, which states that Christ's return will follow a 1000 year golden age USHERED IN BY THE CHURCH
It’s important which you are and what your church teaches, because if they believe the church has replaced Israel then you won’t hear anything about prophecy taking place before your very eyes or you could find yourself on the wrong side of God! God made a covenant that has never been dissolved and when you come against the land that God calls His, then you’re on the wrong side! Therefore it DOES matter whether you’re an amillennialist, premillennialist or post millennialist.
Has the church replaced Israel? If so, then Israel and the land will mean nothing to you and you are an amillennialist. Or you may be a combination, believing the nation of Israel is Important for its historical significance but we must make the world good enough for Christ to come back to, and now you are ‘Kingdom Now’, which is mostly a US view. Or the Postmillennialist view that after Christ 1000 year reign, the church will usher Jesus triumphantly to His throne. In other words all the promises for Israel have now been given to the church who replaced her.
Yes, the Bible can be confusing and this is why we must be filled with the indwelling Holy Spirit for understanding and direction, but one thing two of these views do is put a whole lot of emphasis on the goodness of man. If man could ever be good enough, he would never need a Savior! Think about that. Jesus won’t share His glory with your good works! It’s time to depart from incorrect theology and false teaching. Jesus is coming and you can’t afford to get it wrong. Avoid replacement theology (the church replaced Israel) and reading the Bible as allegorical. It’s much more factual than we may realize.
I am an Premillenalist and a Dispensationalist which means:
Dispensationalism is a theological system that recognizes these ages ordained by God to order the affairs of the world. Dispensationalism has two primary distinctives: 1) a consistently literal interpretation of Scripture, especially Bible prophecy, and 2) a view of the uniqueness of Israel as separate from the Church in God’s program.
“But me, my covenant is with you; you will be the ancestor of many nations”. Gen 17:4
Rom 11: 28 As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies for your sake; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs, 29 for God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable. 30 Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience, 31 so they too have now become disobedient in order that they too may now receive mercy as a result of God’s mercy to you. 32 For God has bound everyone over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.
The covenant with Israel still stands!
Blessings
