Why Read the Bible?
*Do we know what the Bible actually is? It is a revelation from God, who knows everything there is to know about everything, who has revealed to us the elements of history that we need to understand so we can build the right worldview to understand this world.
For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe. 1 Thess 2:13
Do you think the Bible is simply the word of men? * If we truly understood what the Bible is, we would know that this is a revelation from the One who is infinite in knowledge and wisdom. and this is the foundation for all our thinking.
*Remember, in Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Colossians 23). We need to understand that the Bible is not just a guidebook for life, it is the revelation that should be foundational to our worldview.
Watch on Prime, The Most Reluctant Convert. A wonderful program about C.S. Lewis, the British author and scholar best known for his work The Chronicles of Narnia. See how an atheist of extremely intelligence, came to view the Bible as the Words of the one holy God.
