Drawing The Line

When a young girl or boy does not know where the line is, they are headed for a fall. Young people are fodder for the enemy simply because they don’t know. If a young girl does not know what is appropriate and what is not, she may fall for a predator’s tricks. Evil never comes with horns and a pitch fork! Evil always comes bearing niceties and complements!

A friend recently fell for a scam because she did not know her personal line in the area of giving. A table was set up in Canton by TJ Max. An outgoing, very nice black woman pulled her aside with nice words and a good cause. The cause? Sex trafficking! Who does not want to help stop sex trafficking? (The best way is to teach your children where the line is!)

My friend said she agreed to give $40 and tried paying cash but they couldn’t accept cash and gave the reason. A credit card was presented and a picture was taken of her card. First tip-off! Then she was asked to sign something on line. Tip-off #2. She asked what it was and asked if she could she have a copy. “No copy available”, they said but offered to let her read it which she did. It was a monthly bank draft!!!!! The man came over to defend why they needed this monthly withdrawal for the cause. She refused and left. Feeling an uneasiness she called the police. When they got there, the couple was gone. Walking in TJ Max, a couple people heard the conversation between management and police and said they too had given money. One with cash, which had been unacceptable for my friend and the other by credit card. The police took all the information and said it was indeed a scam.

Know where your personal line is and stick with it, such as, “I ONLY give at church.” Practice these scenarios with your kids to prepare them as well as yourself. We live in an evil society and we are commanded to be wise as serpents but gentle as doves, Matt 10:16. You can do that if you know where the line is.

Blessings
