Idols

How preposterous that still today we have idols. God gave Moses the command not to have idols and yet thousands of years later, in America, we have idols. We have movie stars that we idolize. Singers, football players, preachers, the Pope, all idolized. It’s really so very silly. Why do we care what celebrities say about politics? Because an actor is able to pretend really well and memorize lines, that makes them experts on public affairs and government? Could it be that they think to highly of themselves and the people think to highly of them as well? Mega church pastors are idolized. It brings in huge amounts of money, they pay large salaries to the staff, so the staff is all for the pastor being idolized, but pride goeth before a fall always.

The only way we are going to learn is by staying in the Word. Seeking to know Gods heart and mind daily. Laying our own pride, our own thought about things at His feet, willing to allow them to be replaced with His thoughts.

All mankind is broken and frail, no matter who they are. Don’t be fooled by money, fame and fortune. Those people will stand before a thrice holy God and must give account for their life and what they did with Jesus. Their acting, musical skill, recitation, or good works will burn before them like hay and stubble. Only the blood the Lamb will count. Guard yourself from idols for they fall, and they break and crumble.

Blessings
