Daughters of Zelophehad

Rep. Mikie Sherrill, an accomplished woman in the worlds eyes, but unfortunately falls far short in God’s eyes; in fact, her public statement as to the murder of Charlie Kirk shows the depth of her ignorance.

“Charlie Kirk was advocating for a Christian nationalist government and to roll back the rights of women and Black people — this flies in the face of every value I hold dear and that I fight for.”

She emphasized her commitment to the Constitution and free speech, stating:

“The First Amendment wouldn’t be necessary if it were only meant to cover language we agreed with. It is meant to protect people like Charlie Kirk who present vile dissenting views.”

Well I agree with the last part, but she went on to say: “Charlie Kirk’s murder was horrific, and it’s up to all of us to stand against political violence. In these times, I will continue to condemn political violence, racism, attacks on women, and the hypocrisy coming from Trump and his acolytes.”

I guess she hasn’t read about the Daughters of Zelophehad—Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah, whose father died and had no son. The daughters got together and asked Moses to talk to God on their behalf about their father’s money. God told Moses to be sure they got it! God knows and He cares. Violence is never the remedy.

Be like the daughters of Zelophehad and be a part of the solution and not the problem. As their names symbolize action, initiative, and spiritual momentum and not violence and hate.
