So much cultural division. It’s always been there. Since Cain and Able fist approached God differently culture has been divided. I grew up in the old South. It was very different from what I later learned of the North. You can say it was the same, but the Civil War tells a different story. There were—and still are—deep divides.
Recently, we visited the Florida Keys. The water was stunning—crystal blue and clear. The seafood was delicious. But the beaches? Mostly artificial. And the culture? Predominantly Spanish-speaking Latinos, full of vibrant music and energy. It’s not a culture I naturally understand or connect with. There are differences.
Today, September 2015, the US is once again horribly divided. Divided between a world of broken, hurting people looking for love in all the wrong places. The feelings are real, the division is real, but the answer is One, and that is Jesus.
I don’t have to be Jewish to embrace my Jewish Savior. But I do need knowledge—real, freeing knowledge. Not one man’s version of truth, but Truth itself. The kind that breaks chains and heals hearts.
The Bible is a Jewish book, written by Jewish men, promoted by a Jewish Savior. There are differences. For me to understand this very Jewish book, I must understand the Jewish culture. Jesus said for me to do that in Luke 24:44 And he said unto them, “These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me." In others words, go back to Moses, the prophets and the psalms to find out about Jesus. Lessen the divide. Learn about the Answer, the Savior, the only One that has the answers.
I don’t have to be Jewish to embrace my Jewish Savior, but I do have to get knowledge. Knowledge will free you. It has me! Determine today to get freeing knowledge. Knowledge of Truth and not one man’s idea of Truth. Because in the end, the Answer isn’t found in culture—it’s found in Christ.
