Why So Many Versions?

Did you know that Thomas Jefferson, the third president of the United States, created his own version of the New Testament? He called it The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth. But in this version, Jefferson removed every reference to Jesus’ divinity and cut out all His miracles. What remained was a moral teacher—not the Son of God.
This isn’t just historical trivia—it’s a warning. Scripture tells us plainly:
“Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.” — Proverbs 30:5–6 (KJV)

Yet mankind continues to add to and subtract from God’s Word, reshaping it to fit personal agendas, cultural trends, or political ideologies. Today, AI is accelerating Bible translation into rare languages, which is a blessing for unreached communities, but there’s a flip side: some warn that AI could be used to generate altered “scriptures”—texts that look biblical but distort Truth. In a world where people already accept countless interpretations of the Bible, how much easier will it be for them to believe the Antichrist’s lies when he presents himself as the new, hip “god”?
This is not a small issue. It’s a spiritual battleground.

Join us this Wednesday night at Freedom’s Light Church of God, in person or online, as we dive deep into the issue of Bible versions. There is only one true Word of God, and we must be vigilant. The stakes are eternal—and you need to know the truth.

Blessings, and we’ll see you there!
