I’m in the middle of my morning study and the Holy Spirit spoke something so simple yet profound.
We are so quick in our day to day lives to pick up our phones, tablets, computers, flip on the tv… etc. We just have to catch up on today’s news or See what’s going on in the crazy world of social media. We are quick to watch Facebook reels or Tik Tok videos.
But, as believers we are slow to pick up our Bibles and study.
The Holy Spirit asked me….”How about the good news of the coming kingdom? How about the great news of the coming Rapture? How about the news of the Cross? How about the “trend” of false prophets preaching and teaching a false gospel? How can you rightly divide the Word if you don’t know or fully understand the Word? How can you defend your faith if you open yourself up to lies and deception all day long but, barely crack open your Bible?
Matthew 4:4
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeded out of the mouth of God.
We have got to sit down everyday and prioritize reading the Bible. If we put as much time into studying the Word as we do scrolling social media or watching/reading the news….. We’d be better equipped to face the day.
The Lord is speaking to us but, I fear that many fill their day with so much technology, so much noise, that we cannot hear the Holy Spirit. We must learn to be sensitive to His voice. His is the voice of the “true Shepherd” guiding us in the way that we should go.
Put down the devices and pick up your Bible’s.
God Bless,
