Let The Lord Judge

Let The Lord Judge

Judges 11:26–28 reads like a modern news story. The king of Ammon—ruling a small region around what is now southern Jordan—sends word to his conqueror, Jephthah, demanding the return of land that Israel had occupied for 300 years. Jephthah responds with a pointed question: Why now? Why didn’t you try to reclaim it during all that time?
Then in verse 27, Jephthah makes a bold declaration:
“Wherefore I have not sinned against thee, but thou doest me wrong to war against me: the LORD the Judge be judge this day between the children of Israel and the children of Ammon.”
The king refuses to listen. But if you keep reading in verse 29, you’ll see that God does judge between them—and guess who wins?
This ancient story reminds us that God is still the ultimate Judge, even in today’s conflicts. When nations rise and fall, when disputes rage over land and power, the Lord remains sovereign. So keep your eyes on the King of kings and Lord of lords, and He will make your paths straight.

Blessings
