People experience conflict because of differences in values, goals, beliefs, and communication styles. These can lead to misunderstandings, competition, or emotional tension.
Not all conflict is bad. It can lead to better understanding and stronger relationships.
If conflict arises fueled by religious beliefs, Pray. Then walk away. Jesus said, “Turn the other cheek” and “Shake the dust from your feet”.
If conflict arises due to competing needs or goals, PRAY. Ask God if you’re in the right and ask for HIM to meet this need or goal.
If conflict arises because of poor communication, PRAY. Pray that God will give you the words that need to be said to resolve it.
If conflict arises because of personality differences, PRAY. You don’t have to like everyone, but you are to love them.
If conflict arises due to emotional triggers, PRAY. Ask God to show you the problem and to fix it in you.
If conflict arises due to power dynamics, PRAY. Ask the Lord if you handled that right and how you can do better. Ask Him to show you if there is any sin in your heart.
Resolve conflict by 1) Pray 2) Pray 3) Pray
“If it is possible, as far as it depends on YOU, live at peace with everyone.” Rom 12:18
This requires you to pray and be obedient.
But how can I bear your problems and your burdens and your disputes all by myself? Choose wise, understanding and respected men from each of your tribes, and I will set them over you.” — Deuteronomy 1:12-13
