Don’t Believe in God?
Don’t believe in God? Just look at the flamingo! How did evolution know what animals and birds to put where? Let’s look at the flamingo.
AI knows how extraordinary these birds are. It says, “Flamingos are not just pink birds with long legs—they're marvels of nature with bizarre adaptations and social quirks.” I wouldn’t call them “quirks”, but rather Devine design.
Let’s take a look — flamingoes live around lakes that are hypersaline. They were created to rely on saline and alkaline lakes for food. These harsh environments support the growth of algae and bacteria that flamingoes love. Special glands located near their eyes help them excrete the excess salt. This adaptation allows them to drink briny water without harm. Not only that, they have use of their nostrils and feathers which help to regulate salt intake and release it as well. In fact few animals can survive the harsh habitat of the flamingo.
And to show off God’s Glory, the flamingo is not naturally pink. They are born grey or white. Flamingos turn pink because of the carotenoid pigments in the food they eat—mainly algae, shrimp, and other crustaceans. These pigments are metabolized and deposited in their feathers, skin, and beaks, turning them pink.
But that’s not all! To make God laugh, they eat with their heads upside down: Flamingos bend their necks downward and sweep their beaks through the water in an inverted position to filter food. They also have backward-bending “knees” that are actually ankles: What looks like a flamingo’s knee is actually its ankle joint. The real knee is hidden up near the body, tucked under feathers. The reason they stand on one leg most of the time is to reduce muscle fatigue and conserve body heat. Their leg joints can lock in place, allowing them to balance effortlessly. And again, to make God smile, flamingos get a long running start to take flight. Their long legs help them sprint across the water’s surface before lifting off.
Yes, if you just take the time to observe nature, just like God told Job — pointing to animals like the lion, raven, mountain goat, and ostrich, asking Job if he understands their behavior or provides for them? (Job 38–39)
Nature itself tells us there is no excuse! What will you say at the Great White Throne Judgement when God asks you the same question?
But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee: Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee. “Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this?” In whose hand is the soul of every living thing… Job 12:7-10
Blessings
